The ground

Opened in 1967 and redesigned between 2019 and 2021 by a project that closed the corners, steepened the stands and pushed the crowd toward the pitch. Osasuna's members funded much of it. The result is a 23,516-seat ground that visiting sides consistently name among the hardest places to play in the division.

Things worth knowing

  • The 2019 redesign was approved and largely funded by the club's members, who own it.
  • Closing the corners raised the noise level enough to be measurable in opponents' pass-completion figures.
  • Briefly carried a sponsor's name in the 2000s before members voted to restore El Sadar.
  • The stand behind the north goal is among the steepest in Spain.
