The club
Founded on 26 July 1989, making it one of the youngest clubs in Spanish professional football. Almería's best season remains 2007–08, when they finished eighth in their first top-flight campaign. The club is owned by the SMC Group, with Cristiano Ronaldo's investment vehicle taking a quarter stake in 2026. The ground holds 18,311, and the squad is built young and deliberately for resale rather than for the table.
